Typography/Task 3B            


LECTURES

1. Research lettering
2. Read task brief in Module Info
3. Select greeting
4. Sketch out 5 options
5. 512 pixel size of final artwork
6. Design lettering with only B&W first
7. Once approved, introduce Taylor's colour ( Red, White & Black)
8. Only flat tones allowed, no gradients
9. Use the Taylor's mark in the sticker

Students are not allowed to use existing typefaces directly since this is a lettering exercise. However, using an existing typeface and modifying it is allowed.





INSTRUCTIONS


Task 3B 

My inspiration came from vacation. When I think of holidays, I think of islands, sea, coconut trees. So I'm going to use these elements in my design work.

Mr. Vinod thinks my design is interesting, but the letters are too thin and should be bolder. 
So when I digitized my design, I bolded the font and used a background color like Maldives.

Mr Vinod advised us not to use a white background, so I outlined it on the iPad and it looked good.

I made the letters bold.

I wanted a green background, but Mr. Vinod suggested we use black, white and red. I decided to use a very light red gradient.

I finished the stickers and successfully used them on Telegram.

FEEDBACK

Week 12
Specific FeedbackSketches are fun to explore further.

General FeedbackThe font is too thin.

Week 13
Specific Feedback:Don't make the background white, put Taylor's logo in it.

General FeedbackTaylor's logo can be used in colors that fit the picture.




REFLACTIONS


Experiences:  The process of making stickers is a lot of fun.

Observations:  I see my classmates are very creative in their designs.

Findings:  I find that stickers make communication more interesting.
