Idea Development

1. Write a biography about yourself

Tell us about yourself
My name is Chai HongHong, I come from LinFen, ShanXi, China. I like nature, I like the sky, I have infinite curiosity about the universe. My dream is to see the aurora in Iceland.

What is your passion?
I love the universe, the stars. The mysterious fascinates me. So when I was in high school, I fell in love with NASA and would dream about being in the universe when I sleptI like drawing very much. I have learned some basic drawing, Pencil sketch and gouache.

What’s motivate you to achieve your dream?
My curiosity makes me want to realize my dream. I think inspiration comes from life and is limited to one's own perception. So I want to go to many beautiful places to broaden my horizons and create better works.

How do you want to visualize your dream into an artwork?
I think I might combine elements of the universe or the aurora to create works.

2. Write a statement about your work

Tell us about your work
I wanted to use some cosmic and aurora elements for my work, and I looked at NASA for references.

What is the concept behind it?
Mysterious and beautiful.

What is the message you want people to understand it?
I want people to see the mystery and beauty of nature.

What is your motto/ quote?
Be adventurous about the unknown.

Mr. Martin suggested that I adjust the overall color and make my picture smaller. After I made my photo smaller, I found there was a bit more space on top, so I lengthened my photo a bit.

FEEDBACK

Mr. Martin suggested that I adjust the overall color and make my picture smaller. After I made my photo smaller, I found there was a bit more space on top, so I lengthened my photo a bit. I slowed the head up a little bit. After I adjusted the color, I don't know why it didn't look so clear. I checked the resolution and found no problem.

REFLACTIONS

I found the task interesting and I explored my interests. I've been trying to incorporate elements of NASA that I like as I go along. I initially had my head shot straight up, but I felt like something was missing. I wanted to add the shake effect, but I didn't know how to do it, so I watched a lot of after Effects tutorials on Bilibili, so I learned the shake expression. It took me many days to complete this task, and this is my last task, so I have been learning better skills to complete this task.
