LECTURE
Week 1-Week 10
PDF.1.1.Class Slide
In the first week, Mr. Razif introduced this module to us in detail. Under Mr. Razif’s explanation, I learned about the differences between AR/VA/MR and how to identify AR and MR.

Mr. Razif showed us some works of previous students, so that we can have a deeper understanding of the design and application of AR.
We also did a small activity in class. Mr. Razif asked us simple questions about what we wanted to use AR for, what we wanted to achieve and how to apply it. I have been thinking about gyms, and I think that if AR is added to the gym, users can quickly understand the use and functions of fitness equipment.
Week 3-Week 5
Since the second week was a public holiday, we started our class exercises in the Week 3.
In the third week of class, we were divided into groups to complete a task. We each shared our thoughts on the topic in the group and finally we decided to analyze and research how to get a book in Taylors library.
The following is the Miro board made by our group.

Our group received feedback from Mr. Razif after the presentation.

After the group session, Mr. Razif taught us to set up Unity and Vuforia and introduce a marker-based AR experience.
While practicing with Mr. Razif, I lost track of the step I entered into the Unity settings. Due to my poor English listening skills, I couldn't keep up with the pace of the class. Just when I was depressed, my friend Ember told me not to worry too much, Mr. Razif would record the class exercises on YouTube. I was really happy to hear this and it means I can watch Razif's lessons over and over again until I get it right.
After class, I found the YouTube link sent by Mr. Razif in Mytimes. I started following the screen recording to make up for the knowledge I had missed in class.
I chose a Pop Mart card for this exercise.
Process
I successfully imported the image into Unity and placed a cube.
After the test was successful, I added some other 3D graphics for testing, and it was still successful.
I tested the video and it went very well.
I started to learn Button settings and sphere animation, and the test results are still very good.
I followed Mr. Razif’s video tutorial throughout the entire exercise, and it was much smoother than learning it in class. I took some notes that were very helpful for me in learning Unity.
I recorded some of my study notes:
Databases
If we want to recognize something, such as an image that needs to be recognized, the image needs to be uploaded to the database. The system will assign a star rating to the uploaded image. The higher the star rating of the image, the easier it is to identify the image. Mr. Razif suggested that we upload pictures with 4 or 5 stars and not less than 3 stars.
Device Tracker & Track Device Pose
When scanning something, there are certain markers to remember to identify if you want to track device pose. Tracking or not tracking depends on the desired effect.
Generate Database
The database name is usually the same as the license name.
Built-in functions of Image Target
To display content after scanning that specific image, use the object or asscets as the image target. The video must be the target object of a child object of this image. Anything you want to display when scanning must be a child of that specific image.
Splash Screen
Usually the company logo or app logo is displayed before launching the app.
API
The API value depends on the functionality we want to implement. If you want to detect the ground and detect the depth sensor of the wall, then we must use a higher API (not Android 11, just choose your own mobile phone version)
Version
If you want to change to a new version of the app, you must change the version number.
The meaning of Set actuve
Set active true will be visible
Set active false will not be visible
Other
Save twice before testing (Save and Save Project)
If you have card posters, whatever you want to scan, you want to play in video or animation, finally choose video animation.

REFLECTION
At the beginning of this module, through Mr. Razif’s detailed explanation, I had an in-depth understanding of the differences and applications of AR, VR and MR. Viewing the works of past students gave me a deeper understanding of AR design. In the third week, we worked in groups to complete a task, researching how to find books in the library, and made a Miro board to organize our ideas and data. This group project not only improved my research skills, but also enhanced my teamwork spirit.
In the practical operation session, Mr. Razif taught us how to set up Unity and Vuforia, and introduced the marker-based AR experience. Due to my English listening problem, I couldn't keep up with the progress for a while, but through the YouTube videos recorded by Mr. Razif, I gradually mastered the steps and recorded detailed study notes. These notes include database creation and management, device tracking settings, methods of generating databases, built-in functions of image targets, Saphere's dynamic effects, API value selection, etc., which are very helpful for me to learn Unity.
Through these activities and exercises, I gained a more comprehensive understanding of AR technology. Learning Unity is a big challenge for me, but after repeatedly watching the videos recorded by Mr. Razif, I understand and learn the basic operations of Unity, and I feel a sense of accomplishment.
